From April 2025 to February 2026, our team was on site delivering key electrical works for INTEC Energy Solutions at the Twin Rivers Solar Farm in Kaitaia, Northland.
Located in a remote area, this 31MW utility-scale solar development required detailed planning, strong logistics coordination, and a committed delivery team. Two crews operated on rotation throughout the project, staying out of town and working weekends to maintain programme momentum.
The Twin Rivers Solar Farm consists of:
-
55,832 ground-mounted frame PV modules
-
120 string combiner boxes
-
6 GE inverters
-
31MW generation capacity
It will be capable of generating enough renewable energy to power more than 6,000 households annually - or the equivalent of charging approximately 25,000 electric vehicles per year.
Our scope of works included:
- Installation of all DC cabling and terminations
- Installation of all string DC cabling and terminations
- Installation of all HV cable installation
- Installation of underground fibre optics
- Installation of main earth ring around transformer
- Installation of all combiner boxes and terminations
- Installation of all inverters and terminations
- Connections of all PV modules
- Earthing and bonding
- Installation of weather, meteorological, and hydrologic stations
- Testing, commissioning, QA, and labelling of all works
