James Horton

James joined Coll Electrical in 2005 as an apprentice, progressing to become a qualified electrician in 2009 and gaining Electrical Inspector status in 2023. He also spent time working as an electrician in Western Australia between 2012 and 2015, gaining valuable experience on a variety of projects.

James specialises in infrastructure projects across rail, marine, streetlighting, and bespoke lighting, and is frequently relied on for work at height, complex installations, and specialist feature lighting.

Some of James’s key projects include the Vector Auckland Harbour Bridge Lighting, which won the 2019 Master Electricians Excellence Gold Award, AC36 Americas Cup Infrastructure, Quay Street Development Project, Mercedes-Benz North Shore, Queens Wharf cable trays project, Middlemore Train Station, and Te Kori Scott Point Sustainable Park and sports field lighting.
